Yieeeks!
I´ve gotten my silly arse into some real trouble...

My char is this:

lvl. 7 fighter/lvl 10 thief with grandmastery in katanas and three stars dual
str.19 dex.18 con.17 int.15 wis.14 char.18

he is wielding:

two katanas +1 (one of them is stolen from Yoshi he he!)

he is wearing:

studded leather +2, cloak of sewers AC+1, necklace of form stability, ring of mercykiller, helmet of Balduran and ring of human influence, gloves of pickpocketing and belt of Hill giant strength

He´s big problem:

When fighting mages (multiple) he is in waaay over his head...I´m currently in the planaprison...getting spanked so silly that I almost decked my screen twice (Like Muhammad Ali)
From other solos (thieves!) I´d like to get some feedback on that problem!!!

It just occurred to me that I didn´t really specify the trouble...

Magic damage to my char
charm magic that will end a solocampaign
trouble with dispelling mages protection...normally U run away and let their prtection fade out...but not in the planar prison

Beats me...I thought about it but didn´t really find out...

That IS strange though...perhaps it is some kind of bug?

Well playing a solo Charcter. You need to use the art of pulling one baddie at a time. If you can use this tatic it should help out alot. I know there is some times that this is not possible. I am trying to think back to your quest to see if you can do this put I can not rember. Maybe hidding in shawdows and trying from differnet angles to get this to work might help. And what about using a bow and arrow to get the mage off guard when casting spells. I know this are tatics that you all ready probaly use. But With what you have for Equipment there is not many options.

As soon as you get to the prison, use stealth. As long as the guys are not hostile and you have a good score in stealth, you should go invisible. The mage will try to counter this with true sight, but you should backstab him quickly.
Also, try to summon a creature to help you out. A berserk warrior or Kitthix come to mind. The fighters should be easy. If you are finding it tough, run away and stealth again. Then backstab. This strategy served me well.

Also, you could buy a potion of magic resistance from Roger the Fence in the temple sewers and chug it before you follow the troupe. Consider other potions as well, like the potion of speed to keep up with the halfling.

pick up a potions of insight and genius before you go. One of the bounty hunters in the first "room" has Boots of Speed, and if you can ID them and put them on immediately it will go a long way towards helping your hit and run tactics.

Proffencies:
***** Katana Grand mastery, need a patch for this too function properly though
*** Two Weapon style
* short bow...Yipeee! *cough*

THE WEAPONS HOWEVER...Oooooh man!

Main hand wields Celestial Fury +3...the best in the game
Off Hand wields Dak´kons Zerth blade +2 (Does a better katana exist...cause I cant use the extra spells it grants...but I like the AC-1)

Spawkie felt weak after Azash had fallen before the might of Bhelliom

THAC0: +2 bonus
AC: +2 bonus against slashing weapons
Damage: 1D10 +2

Don't know where this is found, or how you can get it, but it is better than Dak'kon's Zerth Blade +2 by +1 THAC0!! Huge difference there, but it is the second best katana that is in SoA.
