I have recently bought ToB. Installed it. Now I want to go through all the story, first SoA and then ToB, and with access to ToB-specific spells in SoA. What is the way to do it? What are the other possibilities of migrating to ToB?
It says that SoA will have Watchers' Keep avaliable. So what if I go through it before finishing SoA storyline? Is it the main location in ToB, or is it prohibited to enter the Keep before you finish SoA storyline? Also it says that if I start ToB game, I will get a brand new map, but with the Keep present. Cant I start SoA and then go to that new map?? Ahh, I am completely lost with all the stuff. Anyone, please explain all the things!

there are a few spells added by ToB (most notably the wild mage spells, and some lvl 9 ones)but these aren't available (without cheating) until ToB(IIRC) some may spawn in earlier, but not until near the end of the game.(the wild mage spells are available in SoA IF you play a wild mage, otherwise you'll never get to see them in practice)
Watchers keep is the only area that carries over from SoA to ToB, so you can stash EQ in there before ending SoA if you don't want to carry it on you the whole time. You can do Watchers Keep in SoA (I recommend lvl 1 before going to Saradush, as the items found there ("containers") are very useful), the other lvls can wait until you're more powerful, and can handle the dangers... the keep is basically considered a side quest in both games, something to do in your spare time, ie nalia's keep, trademeet, etc...

There are three options for starting ToB:
1. Finishing SoA, which will take you directly to ToB 2. Importing a saved game (character+party) to ToB 3. Starting a new game in ToB (making a new character) With ToB, you can get all high levels, spells and abilities while still in SoA, all you have to do is play normally. ![]() The Watcher's Keep is only a dungeon, which has nothing to do with the story and gameplay in the rest of ToB. Just consider the Watcher's Keep as a mere, regular quest. You can go to WK at all times, except when you're in Brynnlaw, the Asylum and the Underdark. It will always appear on your map, as the only place accessable both in SoA and ToB. ![]() |

1) Having ToB installed automatically raises your exp point cap so that you CAN cast some/more of those level 9 spells now during SoA, whereas without it you are severely limited in this from the point cap. Also, with ToB installed, you will be able to use the "high level abilities" during SoA, and some of these are VERY nice to have
2) As mentioned by others, you can go to Watchers Keep in either SoA or ToB, and if you play from the start of SoA and continue directly into ToB, the game remembers what you have/have not finished in Watchers Keep. The benefit of going to the Keep early on in the 2 games is that you get the benefit of finding/buying storage items (potion bags, ammo belt, etc) and some powerful equipment (+4 shortsword)
