So...im looking for a new audio system for the PC, and judging from a lot of reviews it seems that Klipsch Promedia v.2-400 is the way to go, but of course that wonderful product seem to have been discontinued. Looking at their website they only seem to have 2 or 3 speaker systems for the PC rather than the 4-5 im looking for. I went over to their home theatre system area and i found Quintet™ III MicroSystem which is exactly what i want...except i dont know if it will hook up to a PC since its in their home theatre area instead of the PC area.

Anyone got one of these? or recommend other high end audio products for surround sound?

In order to answer loaded questions, one must therefore unload the situation.

1. What type of sound card does thoust employ?
2. Is this a "Multi-media" PC, with built in accessories for this output system you desire?
3. Did you read the users review?

First things. 'Most' home theater systems use "RCA" style connectors, while PCs still use antiquated 'earphone' sized connectors, or some newer systems attach via USB.

Here is 'a' review of your desired system.

This chart is over a year old. It appears this technology is not as volatile as the rest of PC hardware. Even a trip over to Toms Hardware, did not produce anything newer.

A final stop at Creative Labs did not turn up much more either. Except, there is way to much to scan through in their line-up.

BTW; I use an antiquated Yamaha sound card/speaker-sub all-in-one system.

As Felix stated, we need to know what sort of soundcard/on board sound you have, plus it would also help to know what sort of quality you are going for...

Most new motherboards these days have decent onboard optical audio out or multiple 3.5mm ports for decent surround sound. Or even as Felix said, some have RCA out.
Creative and Logitech have some really nice sound systems from a huge range of prices and features, but they are aimed at computer audio (Games, small room sound sort of thing)

I have a Logitech Z-5500 for my general gaming and computer/console stuff.

I also have my larger Sony surround system for the loud stuff which is also connected through optical audio and is quite good.

So yeah, tell us what your after and i'm sure there are heaps of people here that can give their opinions and advise

3.5mm! Got it! For some reason I was thinking 3/16th inch(5mm), but that did not pass the common sense test. Tanks!
