Installed newest drivers for graphics card. Now there's a problem.
My understanding by googling for help has told me that the newest drivers from NVidia is causing a popup warning, saying this: SLI Multi-GPU rendering has been disabled. SLI multi-GPU rendering has been changed to independent GPU because on of your SLI cards has been removed. SLI multi-GPU rendering requires two or more graphics cards. I understand that this comes from the new drivers 91.31, but I do not want to roll back the drivers. Instead, I am looking for the registry key to be able to disable the message. This is the registry key I am told is the one to change the value to 0. NvCplEnableMultiGPUConfigurationPage I have been unable to find this entry. I downloaded some kind of registry editor that was suggested to help locate hidden keys and it opened up several more keys in the NvTweak folder that were invisible before, but still no sign of the above-mentioned key. Some people on another forum found said entry with no trouble and some like me have been unable to find it...unless its right in front of me under a different name. Any help to offer? I have the same exact message, and yes it's really annoying, but I've learned to live with it.
I just searched for entries with "nvidia", "nvcpl", "multigpu", "gpu" and I didn't find anything to do with that entry. Look like I don't have it either.

Ok, I was trying to be funny there. I didn't know Windows had a pop-up blocker.

Just disable the nvidia icon from starting. It does nothing anyway but take up a small amount of memory. It happens with the new drivers it seems and you can, as always, access it through display settings.

I found this also, Larry.
For SLI users (and some non-SLI users), to disable the unnecessary popup balloon which appears telling you that you have an SLI-capable system, go to the [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\MediaCenterTray] key in your Registry and set the NvCplDisableBalloonNotifications DWORD to 1 - if it doesn't exist create it. I too don't want to roll back. These Nvidia drivers are the new Oblivion-optimized ones so I can't go back. [ 09-01-2006, 02:43 PM: Message edited by: SpiritWarrior ]

I created the registry DWORD entry as you suggested, but that did nothing to help when I rebooted. I guess I am not one of those "some non-SLI users" that can do it. I wonder if I can create the other key that I mentioned in my first post and see if that helps. brb
... Nope [ 09-01-2006, 03:39 PM: Message edited by: Larry_OHF ]

Warning: Do not download! The new drivers posted Sep. 1 have the fix. [ 09-01-2006, 11:21 PM: Message edited by: Larry_OHF ]
