cant remember title of this movie, need your help

Basically there is this movie I saw long ago and cant remember its title. I cant remember much details, it was quite some time ago, and I just remember some scenes vaguely.

It is about this criminal (thief?) who is really good with electronic equipment. He goes out of prison and then saves a kid from being hit by a car, and because of that the car hits him. Hes in a coma taken to hospital. As he's lying there he subconsciously hears a nurse talk about another patient who's dead. So he thinks he is dead. And he has this dream where God tells him he doesn't know what to do with him because he was a thief all his life but he dies after saving the kid, so God says he is giving him another chance. He wakes up from his coma and thinks he was resurected from death. After that in one scene he is being shot at and nothing happens to him so he really believes he was dead and resurrected but then it seems the guy who shot him didn't have a loaded gun.
Stpry continues from there. I vaguely remember him going to some hosital for kids or an orphanage or something...

Can't remember any actors, too long ago.

Don't even know how old it is.

Does by any chance any of the Ironworkers remember the title of this movie? I'd be very obligd if You could give it.

Leading actor was Paul Hogan.
