Hmm well I don't know how many Floyd fans we have on this board, but if anyone happened to listen to his music I think a tribute to him would be fitting. He passed away last Friday most likely to health complications. It's a damn shame too, he influenced so many generations of music. David Bowie wouldn't be who he is today without Syd's music, and especially the Floyd wouldn't have even existed without him. Truly a remarkable man with such a quirky yet lovable sense of music. If anyone hasn't listened to his music, I say give it a shot. He is absolutely fantastic and I'm saddened to hear that he has gone at the age of 60.
RIP Roger Keith Barrett, may your influence shine on forever. |

He was a crazy, shining diamond-in-the-rough. May he RIP.

I'm a Pink Floyd fan but the Syd Barrat era music was stuff I did not like that much, but the ABC showed a documentry on him just a few days before his death. It explained that many people were influanced by him. One of the spooky things the documentry also showed was that Syd just turned up in the studio out of the blue while they where recording 'shine on you crazy diamond'.
Stay away from the LSD chaps, because Syd's brain was dead many ago! ![]() RIP
