Where can I find a nice, easily accessible, load of basilisks? I've decided that, when you can memorise 5 protection from petrification spells and leave one person somewhere safe, they provided a nice way of getting experience.
Call me crazy if you like but it works and I really need experience, I'm getting tired of spending two hours on what shouldn't be that hard a fight.
thanks in advance.

Understood Mel!
I believe there ar ea ton of Basilisks in a mountanous area near Nashkel. I'll try to get the exact location later. Also, put all the spells/scrolls on your main guy, cuz if they get petrified it's bye-bye to you!!

There are a few of them to the east of the Nashkel Mines, and they come with this guy who breeds them(?) I think. Btw, if you want lots of experience, go to Durlag's Tower. I'm also playing TOTSC and I've just gone there to boost our XP levels, although it is pretty hard going

Also, I dunno where you are, but if you want fairly easy xp., go to the farm area right below the gate into BG. Lotsa Fun!!!!!

I've been doing that Lioness! It is fun but it takes along time to get a lot of experience.
Alex, Durlag's Tower is a little beyond me at the moment on my best save. On one of my saves I'm on TotSC so I'll be going there soon enough. Can't say I'm looking forwards to it though.
I think I might have been to the place you're all talking about.

*Slight spoiler (kinda, maybe)*

Do you mean the area where you meet Shar-Teel?

My bad grammar again. I meant the place with the basilisks. I've definetly found the ankhegs. My second way of getting experience.

The Balisk area is the map directly to the RIGHT of the Temple (beside Beregost)

And yes, i think you meet Shar-Teel there too.

Spoiler
Right of the Temple of Lathander is a new desert map area with some trees in the north. The bassilicks are everywhere in the middle and the north.
Although be aware of a VERY arrogant high level party (begging for fireballs)
in the middle and the All the basilicks are under the command of a mad magician in the north west.
