Just wondering (as I dont have time to fully look into it myself)
Can Thunderbird connect and get mail from a microsoft exchange server? I would like to try it out at work but I dont know if its possible.

I believe I'm doing it with my work laptop right now...

Try configuring it (and setting it to leave messages on the server) and see what happens. I used the same port settings as I had on Outlook.

I've recently converted to Thunderbird myself, from Outlook Express. The interface is similar, but it feels... better.
It automatically copied my POP settings, account settings etc and imported all my mail (including new folders I had created) without any problems.
Best part is, my wife doesn't seem to have noticed the change (we have a keyboard which have buttons to launch various apps), and she normally freaks out when I change stuff on the PC we share!
