I need a few simple commands in DOS:

I installed a program on my other computer (a Windows ME). It told me to restart my computer, which I did. Ever since, the computer turns on; however, it is stuck on the load screen that says Windows ME Edition.

I went onto my Windows XP (this computer) and created a MS DOS floppy. I put it in the ME, and from there, I don't really know what to do. I need to delete the whole folder of the new game that I just installed. The game is in:

C:\Program Files\Ubisoft

what commands do I have to type to delete the whole Ubisoft folder?

Deltree [name of the folder]

and you can add /y to confirm all deletes of read only and system files

Follow this exactly, press return when there's a # on a single line. (ie:

hello
#
end

would be 'hello' 'return' 'end'

Quote:
c:
#
cd progra~1
#
deltree ubisoft
#
Should do the trick.

Be aware that you should try and uninstall it properly first though - maybe try safe mode into ME and uninstall from there...

Same here, but I'll never forget it, it's what I used from age 6 to around age 13.

If the problem is that the installer is trying to start the second stage of the install and crashing, deleting the folder through DOS will only confuse matters.

Use safe mode, and then run the uninstaller.

Safe mode doesn't load either. Should I continue to try to delete the Ubisoft folder?

Why do you think deleting the game folder will help load windows? That would imply windows is trying to load something from the game folder before it can finish loading. You have to think, why would it do that? Sounds more like your registry got messed up during installation. Then again, I suppose you have nothing to lose, so you might as well delete it and see what happens, but I'd be surprised if that alone solved your problem.

You can try it, but I would re-install windows, that should override whatevers broken.

One thing, both safe mode and normal mode after a crash can take significantly longer to load, leave it a while before you decide its crashed.
