I'm at the part where they want you to clear the bandits and I've gone and cleared a bunch of them even some "end guy" bandits but Not much is happening. What should I do to get past this part?

I suppose you are in the Bandit Camp right ?? Then talk to the guy that is still alive and pick some scrolls from the chest.

Possible SPOILER
* * * * * You go to the far eastern end of the map where there is a kind of 'main camp tent' and enter it. There are three guys waiting for you in there, just kill all three of them and the game will do the rest
