Yea but everyone seems to forget that the Sega Gamegear was released at the same time as the Gameboy, and a LONG time before the gameboy colour, in 1990, and is still, amazingly better. Better graphics, better colour and very importantly, a backlight. It's only drawback being its high battery consumption. Hell, even the atari lynx was better than the gameboy, but all the software companies signed their souls away to nintendo and there shite little console.

Well, the gameboy bashing is a bit too ready here. Really, the software is almost always the reason for buying systems. Let's face it, SEGA has basically always had the same fundamental flaw in its consoles. Besides, battery life is a much bigger issue to the people who play handheld systems. Seriously, you might as well have just plugged the Game Gear into the wall...oh wait, no, you might as well have just played on a television on a console. Forgot about that.

What is that little white thing at the bottom of the game boy version of the lion-king?? lol

That's my new mascot: the amazing white muskrat thing.

And Ilander - that's basically all I did with my gameboy, playing Kirby, some game with a little tomato who moves objects around, and Zelda - right into the wall. That can't have helped my eyesight.

OY! Sounds unpleasant! I hope you have recovered since then!

Seriously, though, I never owned an AC adapter for my GB or GBC. I just figured that it defeated the purpose.

Hey, I seem to remember that the Game Gear had a narrow viewing angle...am I remembering properly, or deluding myself?

Oh, it basically did defeat the puprpose Ilander, but considering:

1) My dad, being of the engineering persuasion, had a drawer FULL of adaptors. I'm talking more than 15, some of which with the ragged bits of tape holding the cords into a proper shape.

2) My older brother and I considered the GB inferior to our computer (our only other source of electronic entertainment for a time). He was bigger and a little threatening, lol.

GB plugged into the wall was a consolation prize
