Tanova is annoying me. HELP!

I've tried everything. i called monsters and animals, let them attack her, then attack her myself and she still beats me up! wot do i do? and NO I AINT GOT THE DAYSTAR HELM, SPELL OR SWORD!!!!

Do you have Azuredge? Mace of Disruption? You know, those weapons that are extra effective vs undead?
Or how about spells? False Dawn (a cleric spell iirc) comes to mind.
Or how about a Protection from Undead scroll? That'll make you 'invisible' to 'em & you can whack them & they wouldn't even react.
Or course if the vamp is s'posed to say something then she won't if you're protected from undead.

The Tanova is the vampire you meet when wiping out Bodhi's guild, in front of the room of spikes, right? if so, throw up monsters using wand of summoning and use a nishruu (you should have that spell if you're fighting Bodhi, if not, leave and buy it...Lehtinan in the Copper Coronet drops it after Hendak) as it's immune to magic. What's your party and your pc's class, as well as their levels?

Just use protection from Undead and start killing that damn thing, she won't even know that she died with day dreaming.

If Tanova's that annoying little vampire-mage, I'd suggest
Skeleton Warriors ... skeleton Warrior's are pretty good against vampires overall anywayz, but a lot better against a vampire who throws only spells.

But giving us your party NPC's, your main character, their lvls etc., would really help indeed

Actually, I heard that Tanova's not classified as "Undead" at all, she's a Mage with the Vampire sprite-set....so anti-Vampire tricks, like the Daystar or a Protection from Undead scroll, won't work.

So, she's a Mage. And a high-level Mage, too, capable of 8th-level spells. So, how do you beat Mages?

SixOfSpades is indeed correct. Tanova is not classified as an undead( according to the game code) in her chapter 3 version. Kinda lame, but there you go.

In any case... send one Kobold( or any other lame summon) in first to absorb her Death Spell. Proceed to send in summons in pairs... if she dominates any of them, just send in more... ...

Send in your weakest summons first.
