I found myself a little flush with gold so I thought I'd buy myself a spiffy new horse. So I bought a black one. I have previously just been using the Prior's paint horse and he goes everywhere with me when I fast travel, without my having to get on him or even be on the same side of Tamriel as him. I spent a lot of time early on travelling by foot after leaving him in Chorrol, and I was in Leyawiin doing one of those 'go to a nearby cave' quests and fast travelled back - when I arrived back in Leyawiin after fast travelling about 100m from the cave, there was my horse. Apparently the game thought the fastest way for me to travel from the Leyawiin cave to Leyawiin was via Chorrol to pick up my horse
Anyway, that is not my point

. So I buy this black horse, and I fast travelled somewhere, with the message that my horse was stabled outside. I go outside, and who should it be but Prior Maborel's horse! My new black horse was still in the Cheydinhal stables. So I thought, oh you have to get on him to 'switch over' as it were from the Prior's horse to a new horse. So I tried that, and fast travelled with him. Then I got off, and fast travelled somewhere else. And no horse at all! My new horse was still where I'd left him before fast travelling! So this is inconvenient - do you have to actually physically get on a horse you buy in order to fast travel with them??
