I have a party of six members, Me, Khalid, Jaheira, Kivan, Branwen and Imoen, but I'm a little worried about our XP levels. I've just entered Baldur's Gate after completing the Cloakwood mines, and we're all on about 30,000 XP points. I've done 90% of the quests beforehand (Gnoll Stronghold, Ulcaster, Firewine etc.) but I think we're still all very low in experience. Is 30,000 normal for this point in the game or am I missing something? Because I don't think there is that much more left of the game now that I am in Baldur's Gate and I'm worried about not reaching my cap.

Hmm, when I got to Baldur's Gate, I had over 75,000.

I'd be a little worried about that low of experience points, too. Of course there all kinds of experience points to be had in the big city. Just do as many side quests as you can while your there. Nothing says you need to go right out and complete the game. Your main character must be about maxed out though.
