How do I find my way to level 4? I just seem to wander in circles. I have killed everything I have encountered and found 2 scepter stones. Am I missing something somwwhere? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Did you find yakmans journal? Its in the cache to the NE of yakman. Who is the mad elf you encountered when you came in.

A lot of people say that it has a mistake in it, but ive always found that if you follow the direcions till you hit the first demons, head south till you hit the second demons, wonder till you return to the comapss room and follow the directions *careful* i usualy hit the final portal room. From your description youve got the first two stones and need to get to the final chamber now.

The journal will lead you out of the maze, but it fails to lead through all the rooms, the Tanarri room in particular, where you will find one of the three gems.

Since you have the Tanarri's gem already though, you can simply just follow the journal's directions.

I would link to a previous post I made that had a map of this level, but the search function has been disabled.

I'm not very good with directions but I think I can help you. (I cheated and used the guide which was very helpful in that dungeon ). I do know that Yakman's journal will direct you out but it doesn't mention every room. You'll know when your almost there because you will come to a room with death shades or something like that and LOTS of traps. After killing the master shade go through the north door and you'll come to a cave with a card playing cambion in it. I'll leave the rest to you. Good luck with watcher's Keep... that level was very frustrating.

I finshed the level 4 without cheat (very challenging), just try to explore the portals and be patient. youll encounter some nymphs and will offer their help in exchange of a kiss, accept and they will send you to the exit portal. from there you will encounter a being that will ask you to play with him (cards) hell attack you and you can loot him with (you can get the cards of many things or whatever hwe calls it). take the right portal if your ready to leave the level and already acquired the scepter, if not take the left portal and explore the place.

youll find the mad elf, hell give you the scepter which you have to restore by finding the three gems. try to loot his camp in the upper right cormer of the room, there you can loot his journal follow it (brginning from the starting room-the one with axis on the floor, be sure you have the scepter restored). the messages in the journal are hidden in a poem and you should uncover it( i wont tell you the direction for your challenge)... enjoy!!!!

hey before you leave the level be ready for the mindflayers waiting on the next level. !!!!!

I just finshed that level..a lot of fun, b/c it was challenging but you can figure it out.

if you want to be spoiled, here's the way (the best I can remember):

when you walk in (room with compass), go straight, talk to yakaman,
get his book and the scepter. the book has a poem that will show you the way. so go east twice (that screwed me up a bit b/c the poem says continue the way you were going - but it means continue east). you'll meet a big demon, you'll need to kill another demon (who I think also has a stone) and give this demon his heart for a stone. Follow the directions in the book/poem (go south till you hit an obelisk and than go west "with the setting sun") and you will find a room with a tree (you're almost there) go north again and thats the end of the poem. But then you find a scripture in that last room that basically tells you to go in the door you came. Then you should end up in an area with a guy that wants to gamble. I tried playing several ways and I lost every time, so I just killed him. He has a stone. In the back of that area is the exit. With the 3 stones and the scepter, you can leave.

The most rewarding route is not to kill the Cambion, as you will lose out on about 40,000 Xp for each party member.

You have a 25% chance to win each of the first two rounds, you will always lose the third round. To begin, get somebody to pickpocket the Cambion if you can. This is not necessary, but it enables you to have the Deck of Many Things without the need to kill the Cambion.

Do not use the Wardstone to wager with on the first two rounds. If you win, the Cambion will get upset.

Always Quicksave before you gamble, so that you can Quickload if you lose.

Use the Wardstone as wager for the third round, when you lose, lend the Cambion the Wardstone. He will exit the place and return the Wardstone to you.

I have never had a problem with the journal, it leads me through all the rooms and finally to the portal.
