What are, in your opinion, the best items for soloing an archer ?

Well I would think the boots of speed would be a must.

Yup and a cloak of magical protectiness (cant remember its real name but it gives you 50% magical damage resistance!).i soloed an archer in DS (well almost i got to the last area before it busted itself) and i found with that you need a lot of potions and also quite a good proficiency with swords as well.

Profiency yourself in short bows too, i know long bows are better statistically, but since the game as way more short bows, you have a wider variety

also with shortbows - you can get ones that make their own arrows, otherwise you'll be filling up your inventory slots with ammo and have no room for anything else until you get the bag of holding

well, if you have TOB installed, you can go into the tower (cant remember the name its been so long) and get a quiver of plenty+1. unlimited +1 arrows. i would get aegers hide from ribald, boots of speed, vhailors helm, a belt of giant strength, a good sword, elven court bow from the nalia's keep quest, ring of gaax, ring of earth control from nalia's quest, cloak of the sewers, and a various mix of different arrows. that should do the trick just peachy.
