Got the results of some of my exams back today: I decided not to tellmy parents. Sooooo bad.

Plus, I think today is the last day of the Steve Penk show on Invicta FM: I heard they're axing it.

Oh, I can't retake 'em. I know, they're those end of year things, but they shpw just how bad I've done, how little I treid last year, and now I'm suffering for it. Also they affect what groups I get put into next year, and what I could get recommended to take.

you seem almost inconsoleable

life will get better, as it always does. you CAN beat everyone else at everything (thats an order ). if the teachers decide 'not to accept you' then you know your better than them - they are obviously stupid!

the futures bright the futeres oran... oh wait no. . just KNOW it will turn out fine and you'll feel better. and of cosrse the positve attitude will allow you to do better in future

Right first off, these are your end of year exams, I know it might not seem like it right now but they are nothing compared to your GCSEs. You said it yourself, its only an indication of how well you performed the last year and what group you should be placed in each class. I.E these exams are wake-up calls, and like you yourself said, apparently you weren't trying last year. If that is the case then THIS is your oppertunity to get your act together, and perform to the best of your ability, which is all anyone can ask of someone.

Secondly, if may not seem like when you yourself are experiencing a "life changing dilemna" (as I now call them) it but there are MANY people (around the world) going through the same ordeal, it's natural to lie back and enjoy a ride until you hit a bump in the road and realise "Damn, I've got to watch where I'm going!". Lets picture the worst case scenario, you don't pass your major exams, ITS NOT THE END OF THE WORLD...I know its hard to accept that, and I used to laugh at my brother whenever I shared my doubts with him and he said that, but lifedoes really go on. There are many people (yes ever here on Ironworks) who have led good, wholesome lifes without a "proper" education.

Thirdly you're worried that they might place you in low groups, well then you just have to work to the best of your ability, prove that you shouldn't be in those respective groups and earn your position in the higher groups. Your future is what YOU make it, odds are that a teacher will not turn you away and not let you participate in lessons next year (especially if you happen to be a relatively well behaved student). Teachers want students to succeed, thats why they do what they do.

Finally what makes life worth this hassle? What comes after the school life ordeal my friend, whatever path your school life takes, regardless or whether you obtained the results you thought you were going to get, the world is brimming with oppertunities and possibilites for an individual to obtain and take. You just got to look for them.

I'll just like to emphasise that I am not trying to put you down, I am trying to show you the other side of the coin. It might seem like the end of the world but be thankfull for this oppertunity to turn it around. You've just got to persevere through this troubling time in your life and keep telling yourself the effort you put in now will be worth it in the end. Remember, adolescent life is hell for many people around the world, not only yourself because despite what some might say "Your time in school is NOT the best time of your life".
