Anyone into them? We have an annual event here on the Columbia river called "Columbia Cup". It is a leg of the Unlimited Hydroplane tour. It is an event everyone looks forward to here. Great time!
I happen to be part owner of a historic hydro. We hope to restore it someday. Check it out here. http://lesliefield.com/boats_teams/1...cooter_too.htm I am looking forward to the races, I cant wait! If you ever get a chance to see a race close to you, go. Nothing like a boat going 160! Here is an old picture of our boat, sinking. ![]() The bridge in the background is dalled the "Blue Brigde". I drive over it 20 times a day at least. If you fallow the links on Leslie's site, you will find out some history about it sinking alot. For example, an "Allison W24"! [ 05-25-2003, 10:54 AM: Message edited by: LordKathen ]

I am rather fond of them, actually...from a hyrdodynamical point of view. A standard application of Bernoulli's Principle, and all that.
The only other thing I know is that 160 mph on land is really fast while 160 mph on the water is heart-stoppingly fast. Good luck on the restorations!

hmm.. i find it ironic that there is a plane that needs the ground to "fly" err.. move.. heh.. but still going 160mph is no joke.. its heartstopping.. just going 90kph on a jetski is enough for me but TWICE as that.. no thanks
