Solo Sorceroring

I am attempting the game as a solo sorceror, no cheats apart from geting a bag of holding in Irenicus's Dungeon.
Does anyone have any guidance, or ideas to help me.

Ditch the Bag of Holding if you are really sincere about no cheating.

Besides the above, I have to ask you. Have you written down a spell list for your Sorcerer? In order to solo with a Sorcerer, I highly recommend that you prepare in advance, and this includes a specific spell list that your Sorcerer will follow.

Have you completed the game before? Soloing is not for the faint of hearted, and if you do not know what the game will throw at you, you are going to be in for a very bumpy and frustrating ride.

Yes I have completed the game before, and ToB as well, once with a Mage and Party, and once with a monk and party.
The Bag of holding I seriuosly need. I would be completely unable to carry the haul from dungeons without it.
Thanks for the spell list idea, that is very usefule.

Heh, actually... when you solo, money is going to be the least of your problems. Seriously, I did not use any Bag of Holding in the beginning, and I still managed to afford the Robe of Vecna just one quest after meeting Gaelyn Bayle.

After some time, I just got sick of picking up loot to sell, because I was overflowing with gold.

Anyhoo, some guidelines with regards to the spell list. Take every fight into account and make sure that you can counter them when the time comes. Keep a healthy mix of offensive, defensive, summoning and counter spells. Try to have at least one offensive spell per spell level.

The following is my recommended minimum for Sorcerer stats. Some choose to have lower STR, but I feel you need some STR because you want to carry stuff other than your robe.

STR: 12
DEX: 18
CON: 16
INT: 10
WIS: 18
CHA: 08

This is a total of 82 stat points.

My SoA equipment setup is as follows, with alternatives in my Bag of Holding.

Armour: Robe of Vecna
Helmet: Pale Green Ioun Stone
Gloves: Bracers of Defence 3
Amulet: Amulet of Power
Girdle: Belt of Inertial Barrier
Cloak: Cloak of Protection +2
Boots: Boots of Speed
Ring1: Ring of Acuity
Ring2: Ring of Wizardry

Weapon1: Staff of Magi
Weapon2: Sling of Everand

Thanks everyone that equipment list was particualrly useful, and found the journal of Elmonster to be good reading.
