Again I have to be the nitpick.

Bonobos (also known as dwarf chimpanzees) also have sex for pleasure. Actually sexual acts take up much of their life with homosexual and even pederastric practices being common. It is believed that sexual acts plays an important part in their social bonding process.

It is also notable that the collective aggression common amongst chimpanzees and humans is unknown in this very peaceful species. A social order with some inequalities in status is evident amongst the bonobos though.

BTW, bonobos are also incredibly cute.

The part about praying mantises grisly courtship behaviour is a bit overrated and "urban-legendized". At least I think it is untrue that a male will firstly begin to copulate after having it's head bitten off (it is true that it can continue the act headless though). Still, it is common for the female to eat the male as the proteins within him is useful for producing the eggs.

Also this behaviour is not common to all species of praying mantises. In fact I think it is only common amongst the large green ones. There are many other praying mantises for whom mating is an entirely ichorless affair.

Pigs may have a 30 minute orgasm or they may not. I only have this post to go on, and intenet chain emails are not exactly reputable.

But notice they are absent from the list of animals that hav sex for pleasure? Far better to be a dolphin. Sex for pleasure, lots of it (I saw it on the Discovery channel) and none of the crap we humans have to put up with.
