... or "Summer Time" as it's called in some other countries:
http://encarta.msn.com/column/daylightsavingtime.asp So, it serves three purposes. Safety, Energy Conservataion, Crime Prevention. It was first suggested by Ben Franklin, and first put to use in England during WWI. In the US states don't have to follow it, but if they do they must do it the same way as everyone else. |

Bleah. They should just get rid of it. I would like to see a controlled study that shows that those benefits are real.

Yeah, it was introduced during WW1 to extend working hours so that more could be produced in the war effort...one of the many things introduced by the DORA (Defence of the Realm Act). Some other things included no cameras allowed ot be bought, no kites to be flown and pubs had to close earlier (to avoid workers getting drunk
![]() Sorry, it's just that I'm doing for History GCSE and had to know this...argh...GCSE's coming up this summer...only about 5-6 weeks left..oh-oh...16th of May is the day we break up for study leave...I'd better stop spending so much time here and start studying....nah! very very confusing thing. especially in china. during my first time travel there, I was told that china also observe daylight saving time, so I go to the train station 1 hour early. but to my horror trains follow old schedule. so which mean I have to wait for whole 1 hour.
after that I thought buses overthere follow old schedule then. so when I come to the bus station to my horror buses follow daylight saving time. I was late and miss the bus! arghhhhhh!!!!!! |

I cannot stand Daylight Savings Time. What a ridiculous idea and a useless bother.
*sigh* Oh, well. There isn't much I can do about it, so I suppose I'll simply set my clocks ahead 1 hour tonight. ![]()
