This pisses me off. A 4000 year old man (and another) have been found in England near Stonehenge. These people would have seen the building of Stonehenge. One in particular was buried with extraodinary wealth for his day.

Is it right we should dig them up? And if for scientific reasons we have to remove them, is it not right and proper to re-inter them in their original site when we are done? These people were extraordinarily important people in their day. This resting place would have been specifically chosen as the place where this soul should rest forever more.

I saw another docu' not so long ago where they had found a priest (I think) in a stone sarcophogus made for him. An extremely important person of his time.
They removed the skeleton but the coffin was so "important" they had to re-bury it. I'd have thought the bloke inside was the most important thing about the grave.

They really should re-inter these important people of history in the sites where they were buried. Raise a memorial to them by all means so that all of us can stand in awe. Far better than a cupboard.

The biggest factor is probably money again. Without all those artifacts what museums could survive then? the poststamp musea? But I do understand what you mean, I wouldn't like to be dug up after thousands of years in an honorable place

Well sure, take the artifacts, and they are scientifically very important. If you re-bury them once found, they'll only be robbed.

The essence of the person however. Their final Earthly remnants imho should be left in what was intended to be their final Earthly resting place.

I agree...These people were buried with as much ceremony as they were for a reason. Who are we to did them up and keep them in a cupboard?

I quite agree that the remains should be re-interred. Someplace secret, as grave robbery is the bane of archeology. But, yes, I think the artefacts should be studied. Think of all we learned from the Sutton Hoo burial site, and the man found in the glacier.

Yes, the Sutton Hoo, Pete bog man and a thousand others. The artifacts are priceless and important I agree.

Look, if we found an accident victim or whatever fom a hundred years ago, a soldiers body perhaps. We would bury it with all due respect and humility and commend him unto God.

We then find an accident victim or an ancient soldier and the same values go out of the window. We'll dig you up we will, rummage, root and then (kind of) forget.
There's yer cupboard, your soul's already been prayed for....your ours now.

I think they should research everything about it. I dont beleive in spirituality, so no harm as far as I see. Could answer a lot of questions about stonhedge.
