I know it was a few hours ago now, but Maurice Gibb of the Bee gees, has died of a heart attack, after surgery for an intestinal problem, he was 53.As a teenager in the 70's most of my early attempts at dancing were to the bee gees,so i'll always have fond memories of him....I think. Although I'm not personally a fan, this is a huge loss nonetheless. So young. My thoughts are with his family and friends.

I actually heard this in the early hours approx' 4AM GMT yesterday morning. He'd been gone for 30 minutes apparently. I know his closest family were there but I can't help but feel there were others that deserved to hear it before me. Seems like the media were hovering like vultures, ripping up every scrap till the end.
I too boogied and smooched to this stuff. I've got a special pal many miles away, I've heard the Bee Gees playing in the background when I talk to her. It's a sad passing of real talent in these days of talentless manafactured music. |

This is really sad. I've always had time for the Bee Gees. They were going to tour Australia this year too; I read in the paper this morning how much they were looking forward to coming back home and playing

I just heard it on the news. I knew he was ill. His brother was hopeful he'd pull through. That is very sad. Very sad.
![]() Love the Bee Gees stuff. I was influenced by the counter-tenor vocals (falsetto) and the grooves especially. Bummer. |

Yeah, tis sad!
And they were pretty cool, but I wasn't their biggest fan! At least he lived a good life, and was luckier than most! Wonder if 30 years of alcoholism and hard drugs caused this disease....

I'm not much of a fan of the Beegees, but this is still very sad news. May he rest in peace.
