Jeff Gordon's out again!

I can't believe he's out with less than 50 laps to go at Talledaga. There goes any chance he had to catch up in the points race.

The really bad news is my best friend, Dean, is a rabid JG fan, and he won't be pleasant to be around for a couple of days...lol.

Where they drive round in circles for a couple of hours and the officials brings out yellow flags every time someone hiccups.

I'm not the biggest NASCAR fan, but from what I've seen, he's one of those guys you love or hate. No middle-man

This is probably the only "sport" out there that isn't of any significance. The only reason why it remains is because of the HUGE influx of $$ it brings to the southern economy. Heck, I would rather watch little kids swim around in the kiddie pool than watch 40sum cars drive around in a circle all day. I mean, if I'm gonna watch a car, it is either F1 or monster truck rally, even those I don't watch that often (or hardly ever)..

Raceing is GREAT!! It is right up there with golf,bowling, and watchig grass grow. It is also one of the few sports where you can be completely out of shape and still excell at it.

Of what significance is any sport? Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's insignificant.

The reason it's "still around" isn't because of the money it brings to the "southern economy", it's still around because millions and millions of people enjoy it. I'm not saying it's not making money, but NASCAR wouldn't make a dime without fans, and those fans are from every area of our nation and from every socioeconomic group.

NASCAR's roots are certainly southern, but the days when NASCAR racing was just a southern "thang" died in the last generation.

I don't get the popularity of NASCAR. It sucks. Nothing changes, its hours and hours of left (?) turns. See, I'm not even sure, but it's one way all day. Tons of rednecks watching hours of cars polluting the environment. It's SO boring. How is it even remotley enjoyable? And it's the CARS doing to work. Not a sport where a person's physical ability is the point. OR a team where the team combination is the point.
