Telsa generators have been around wayyyy before Red Alert came out. They are usually found in power stations. I know a person on another forum who regular builds 'small' ones as a hobby.

Note that small as in comparison to those in power stations.

That said and done, there is no point in increasing the voltage and current to a PC as you will just end up frying the circuits inside. There is a reason why there is a specific power supply in your PC casing.
