I ask because my level 37 SKALD and party of Aerie,Nalia,Valgyar,Minsc and Jaheira if I recall correctly is getting clobbered by him.

Have a spell trigger ready with 3 LR with Aerie.Fire it at him and with Nalia cast time stop, improved alacrity(sp?) and then throw as many abidalzims you can.Optionally lower his MR and the saves a little more and cast numrous finger of death after the abidalzim's.
The whole strategy applies on his dragon form. His human form is fairly easy.

OK, first remove all the frost slamanders - you want to be able to concentrate on the big guy. Now, romove all electricity-based attacks from your spell books, replace tham with spells that wont heal him instead. Run away from him and rest. It *is* possible. Then do the 3 LR and pound into oblivion.
ALternatively you could shapechange a spellcaster into a Illithid (via the level 9 spell "shapechange") then Time Stop and suck out his brain while hes in human form - he never gets a chance to become a dragon, although you still get the scales. This way is Cheese however.

I feebleminded him when he was in his dragon form, hacked and slashed him to 1Hp, then finished him off with Dispel Magic.
Oh yes... I killed Abazigal with Dispel Magic... ... |

Yeah, just do the normal dragonslaying routine and it should work.
I found him easier than Draconis IMHO. |
