I've had some time off, with migraines, and during some lucid moments, have produced a cd of the music I play at the Ren Faires. I gave a copy to my mom, with a thank you note for all the help she's been giving me, and she likes it, and so does her soon to be husband. Why the title, they are both in their 60's, or close. I'm writing music that old people like, so I ask you, am I getting old????

Only as old as you feel. Somedays I'm 20 sumpin.
Only as old as you act. Somedays I'm a teen again.
Only as old as your body allows. Somdays I need to retire. Again!

But, lastly, as old as the mirror says, it never lies!

Uh...sorry to disagree. But if you're writing music to soothe the geriatric soul then, yeah, you're getting old.

You're not getting old, you're just making music old people happen to like. You wouldn't be any younger if you made music that appealed to 5 year olds would you?

I found myself tapping my foot to music in an elevator the other day, so I must be getting pretty damned old myself. Literally did a double-take when I saw what my foot was doing. Must not enjoy elevator music.

But hey, if your music eases the high colonic or helps people to better masticate their boiled peas...at least it serves the community, right?

Not necessarily. Music can cross the all ways we have to 'divide and define' ourselves, like age.

Are your tunes online somewhere? I'll be happy to give it the 31 year old test.
