I'm baby-sitting right now, and using the family's apple pc.

I mean, I knew Mac's existed, but never thought anyone with anyone sense had one. I hate it You can see it is trying to be like windows... but not as well... I can't even find the shut down button!

Anyway, I'll be posting questions here as the need arises, hoping for someone to help me out.

I'll probably be baby-sitting here a lot, so I'll keep it updated

First thing: how do I open more than one IE window?

Apple button + n.
Shutdown button: on the top menu, Apple+shutdown. It's completely different from windows. Windows wouldn't even be here if they hadn't taken the mouse, desktop, keyboard from apple. But that's a different story.

Like G said. Windows is trying to be Macintosh. Not the other way round.

And the apple+n works on windows too, only that windows uses the control button for everything.

Damnit! Windows is always right! Macintosh copied Windows... only they were so sneaky and underhanded they did it before windows.

And Apple stole it from Xerox... . There hasn't been a lot of pure innovation at Apple, just a lot of borrowing coupled with militant standards and IP controls.

Yup... they're good at inventing stuff... not so good at making money on those inventions. They actually gave away all their IP around the GUI... it boggles the mind.

I'd say they're doing not bad now with all their xerox machines.
