Which game does (in your eyes) have the best Ingame music?
My vote goes to Planescape: Torment. That music is just plain brilliant. Though I like Freespace2 and Wing Commander4 as well... |

Hands down:
Shadow of the Beast series for the Amiga! Runner ups: (Ultimate) Doom (but not Doom2) though it is easily trumphed by some of the stuff in 3rd party PWADS (Memento Mori 1 or 2, 2002ADO etc). Wacky Wheels (the guy who made the music also made the music for several Doom projects) and he rox0rs. Heroes of Might and Magic 2. Shoot, I even like the opera voices. The incidential music of the Myst series ain't too shabby either. Instills a great feeling of sorrow and past time and I love Achenar's theme. Descent has nice music too and so has Rise of the Triad. And of course an old time evergreen that will stay stuck in your head till the day that you die once you have been tormented with it: The main ingame theme from Bubble Bobble! Oh, the horror!

Heroes of Might and Magic II gets my vote. Some of the tunes in that are great! Nowadays I use them as relaxing music.

I'm going to dig into classics - The Legend of Zelda and Phantasy Star I/II
You don't need 32 bit, 120 voice for great music!

Final Fantasy 6 or Chrono Cross were my favorites.
Some highlights: FF6: Shadow's Theme - cool western theme Opening Theme where Terra and the two soldiers are heading for Narshe - this one is just plain awesome The Veldt - cool drums, great beat Chrono Cross: Opening (with the CG stuff) theme - One of my favorites, especially with the great violin Ending theme (credits) - soft and beautiful; great vocals as well Overworld theme on the Home World - cool calpyso beat

I always turn the music off, cause i prefer the environmental sounds, exept for one game: Vampire, i don't play it anymore, i'm done with it, but the music in the game gave me goosebumps, very creepy sounds.

IMO, Final Fantasy has the best game music ever!
Although, BG2 has an outstanding musical score! |

Believe it or not, I really liked Rainbow 6's music...the stuff that played while it was loading the next mission. No ingame music to speak of, of course.
Deus Ex was pretty good, too. As for any of the Black Isle titles, they just grated on me...too repetitive.
