Dragonlance or Forgotten Realms?

I personally prefer Dragonlance (taking into account the novels written, pnp D&D sourcebooks for each, the characters and the storyline, etc. of both worlds.) What does everyone else think?

A toughie. I really enjoyed Dragonlance because of the storyline and the characters, I thought that was very nicely done. Forgotten Realms has it charm as well, so I really can't decide! I think I'll just toss a coin and see on what side it lands....

I still like Dragonlance better because of the heroes of the lance. I like some aspects of Forgotten Realms but I played more Dragonlance computer games. There seem to be more memorable characters (for me) in Dragonlance such as Raistlin, Caramon, Flint, Tanis, Kaz the Minotaur, Paladine, etc. I can only remember Drizzt and Elminster in Forgotten Realms.

I prefer Forgotten Realms.

I like them both. I've played and gamemastered plenty of campaigns in both
Realm's. Forgotten has a little more flexibility then DL, but I love the towers in Dragonlance. Any hoo it's all good.

ok---here is something of a spin-off from the original question.

who would win a mage fight (both at the peak of their power as magic-users).
Raistlin Majere or Elminster?

I would have to say Raistlin....but, then again, i am a little on the subjective side because i consider Raistlin to the THE SH*T!!!!
