Your Suggestions for NPCs

I rolled up a F/M and since I am right at the very beginning of the game I currently have Minsc, Jaheira, and Imoen. This is my first time through (hey, its cheaper!) and I realize that I'll need another Tank, another Thief, and I got to absolutely have a Cleric. What are your suggestions? Who is the best GOOD or neutral cleric NPC? If I decide to keep Imoen and Minsc and boot Jaheira (not much on Fighter/Druids), I'll need to pick up three to make a party of 6. Thanks ahaead of time.

me myself and i who needs npc's they get in the way. bout the only good thing they are for is fodder against ameylisan in tob

I say keep Jaheora.She can be a great tank.
For a cleric/tank use Anomen IF you can stand him!!!
I can and he is a great NPC.
You don't need another thief if you have already one trust me!
For another Fighter type tank I would recomend Valygar/Keldorn if good,Korgan if evil.

Once you get out of the Dungeon, Imoen is captured by Cowled Wizards. So you can have her in your party anymore. But this might be a good party for your F/M:

Protagonist (you)
Minsc
Keldorn
Aerie
Jan
Anomen

That way, you'll have four tankers, three Mages, one Thief and three Clerics, all varying from Chaotic Neutral to Lawful Good.

well, you don't want Jaheira...
1. PC ftr/mu
2. Minsc: ftr (2 handers & missles) or else Anomen, Nalia ("archer"/mage)
3. Aerie: mu/clr or Jan thf (comprehensive magic or improving thief skills?)
4. Anomen or Viconia or Cend (if Anomen is in #1): clr (Aerie would be fine also, just levels slowly...)
5. Keldorn or Vaygar or Keldorn: ftr (who do you like?)
6. Imoen slot (or else, try Nalia or, even, Haer temporarily or permanently; if Haer, then be sure to have a second mage!)

I don't know: the game ENSURES that you can't have a perfectly balanced party. Do you want to go fighter heavy or magic heavy? Extra mages, clerics/druids, or support people (bards, thieves)?
Who is fun for you?

N.B.: Imoen is important for the storyline, but not required; you can develop a romantic interest with certain NPCs (well, why not?); certain NPCs interact with others in unique ways.....
