Ok,I'll make this clear.

This is the best PRACTICAL armour class. Not one that everything good is heaped onto one person, but that is the best it can be with the rest of the party getting the best also.

My best is -6.

Now,I know there will be a good friend of mine who will be along soon, beating this record and probably bragging of a very good armour class against some specific kind of weapon.

Just wait.He will come.

Can't run it like that... practical... practical varies from person to person. For me, I consider one person with the insane AC very practical, although I typically shoot for 2 guys with low AC. Typically let that person (or 2) lead the party, ahead by a bit. Bad guys try to hit that person, rest of my party rips the bad guys up with ranged attacks. Very practical, very effective.

I'm with you on that Axterix, having one or two tanks is really useful, and practical. If they have low AC then they're less likely to get hit when they are distracting the firepower away from the vulnerable mages, who just can't get a good AC.

I think my bast was -9, without cheating or spells of course.

i have 2 -7s but thats with a 3 person party so the good stuff is on a fighter and a fighter/cleric and the mage gets the leftovers

its easy though to get less than -10 for some weapons, missle especially with those boots

my fighter is at -10 if he uses scimitar+2 and large shield+2 (from Durlag's tower), if he switches to using twohanded weapons, then he is at -7. If killed Drizzt and used his defender scimitar, his armor class would be -12.

i usually full-equip a tank, then a second one with the leftover, and for the rest of the party, nothing special (amulets/rings +1 and similar).
I think this is the best armor class you can get in the game:
SPOILER

Base (with 18+ dexterity): 6
Full plate mail (AC 1): -3
Ring +2: -5
Claw of Kazgaroth: -6
Defender: -8
Cloak of balduran: -9
Helm of balduran or helm of glory: -10
Shield +2: -13

I would consider having this armor pretty practical , though i agree that 2 tanks with -8 or so each is very fine too

My Armour Class Normally is -7, but summat im really proud of is my armour class against missiles is -20!

I got this from using plate mail +3, sheild of the falling stars, boots of avoidance, claw of kazrakoth, gauntlets of dexterity and a pretyy good base, but im not sure what that is!

I had a well-armored party with four characters having AC of -5 and two members with -2. And they were not only fighters but one fighter-thief (Coran), one thief-mage (Imoen) and one cleric-mage (PC).
