Okay, this is the story. I'm just about to import my fighter into BG II, and I'm planning on dual classing him to a cleric at level 10. The problem is, I'm not sure how to distribute my proficiency points. Can anybody tell me a few of the best clerical weapons found in BG II, or point me to a site which will tell me? It would be a waste of proficiency points if I ended up choosing the wrong type of weapon, so I'd really appreciate a quick overview of the best clerical weapons in Shadows of Amn. Thank you

IMO, the Mace is a good clerical weapon. And it is also good with Fighters, so I think you should use a proficiency point on that.

I think ya should give some points to a mace or a quaterstaff couz they are strong when ya are a fighter/druid (i know so couz i dual-classed them 2 so)
look out with ya spells they can turn out very, very wrong

I would go with Maces and Warhammers, but not Quarterstaves. A cleric ROCKS with a good shield and some decent armour, and the loss of the shield's bonus to AC is definitely not worth it.
When choosing between Mace and Warhammer I would soonest go with Mace, as it take a LONG time before you can assemble the complete Crom Faeyr: SPOILER: ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' not until chapet 5 or so, as you have to go through the Underdark, a dragon lair, an illithid dungeon and the Planar Sphere to be able to complete it. Maces on the other hand are more plentiful, and the upgraded Mace of Disruption is an ideal weapon for a cleric against undead (until you can turn undead well enough to make them go splat of course ![]() Anyway, if you plan to continue to Throne Of Bhaal, Morningstar/Flail is also a good option. There's also a great mace in TOB by the way.

I, personally, would put my Fighter proficiency points into
Flail*****, Sword&Shield* Then Dual, and put your first Cleric points into Warhammer and Sling. Then do Flail and Mace, and by the time your Fighter half comes back, you've got Grandmastery in my favoite weapon in the game, and a good start on all the other good Cleric weapons--and you've only overlapped (wasted) a single weapon star. Not bad.

definitely mace and sling, then some extra points in flail or hammer. dual-class fighters can superspecialize even after they have dualed, so mace+++ sling+++ hammer++ flail++ s&s style+ should do it, by the end. not sure how many points you get if you dual at 10th, but you should get at least 7 for the fighter and 3 for the cleric. (even more with ToB)
Slings suck, but they are just about the only cleric-usable missile weapons, and you can use a shield with them.
