selfish test (spoiler)

im doing the selfish test in nine hells... valygar is kidnapped and i can either let him be killed... or loose some stats... obviously letting him killed is the evil chjoice...

the problem is thjat whether i do the good or evil choice it is still considered good... i dont turn neutral evil and i get the good bonus (+10 magic resistance) even if i follow the evil path

on a side notice... i CAN rest and save in hell... is it normal?? i heard you cant do that.

please reply! at least those of you who playa s evil...

where did you hear you couldn't rest in hell ?

That's probably a bug or an oversight, try patching the game and reloading or something. I dunno, also try http://members.rogers.com/mrkevvy/
they may have a fix for that problem somewhere on the site.

yeah, its a bug, unpatched games sometimes wont turn your PC to an evil alignment even if you choose the evil path.
Never heard of not getting the right bonusses though, so I'd just go to baldurdash ( Bristowe's link) and download the entire fix-pack
( SoA, or ToB if you have the add-on ).
This 'll probably remove some other problems you havent encountered yet too .... be carefull though, the ToB-fixpack screwed up edwin in my game, the boots of speed do not affect him anymore ...

what do you mean ... i dont need an excuse to kill people, simply planting the idea in my head does quite nicely [img]graemlins/firedevil.gif[/img]

Jan- you can raise them with the evil path if you're playing on Normal or Easy. However, on Core or above, they're unraisable.

you can't rest or save in hell, but only the hell at the end of ToB. i saw that same wrong thing on a walkthrough once. the ToB hell gives that message (really funny):

You cannot rest here. Either find an inn or rest outside.

inns in hell? or going outside to rest? isn't that a little weird?

Sucks that you can only raise them on easy or norm.
