Third World?

I've heard of third world countries!

But I'm not sure which ones are the first and second ones. Can someone help me out here?

I think it's one of those things that we were just not meant to understand. Why would they say "world" also? Third Class makes a whole hell of a lot more sense then third world.

The west is the first world
The communist countries were the second
The rest (poor) was the third

Now we don't have a second world as such. The previous second world is pretty much divided into first and third.

Sky mostly it was the western european countries that were considered part of 1st, eastern european countries were second...most being part of the Soviet Union...now...its a case by case issue I think.
