Planescape torment had better graphics in my opinion, but the main character being immortal made it too easy eventually, seeming that you can try again and again and again and again.

BG2 is still in shops. Planescape generaly isnt. Draw your own conclusions.

I actually prefered Torment. It was a lot more in depth and a lot of time had be spent developing the characters, where as BG2 there isn't much character interaction, true you get characters NPC's suddenly talking to each other and the romances are a nice touch but the interaction still pales in comparrison to Torment.
Its a shame that Planescape didn't really take off as it is such a good game. There was even talk of an expansion pack coming out for it, but sadly it never did ![]() |

In torment, they told you everytime you died, it created another of those shadows, so everytime I got killed for a reason other than storyline, then I reloaded my game. I was more scared of dying on PS:T than in BG2.

Two very different games, IMO. As a roleplayer, though, I'd probably opt for PS:T. It really *is* a totally different game depending upon whether you configure your character for melee, or for magic. And the depth of your party members is pretty intense. For what it's worth, the BG2 development team told me a year ago that they actually added a lot of depth to their party NPCs after seeing what BIS did with PS:T.

I am sure the idea of romance came from PS:T. You get some romance like talk with Annah and Fall-From-Grace. The first time I played the game I even thought what I said to them would make a difference.
