Off Topic. This is a computer question. Ive got some vacation time would like to play Baldurs. Problem is the game is in another computer. I'd like to be able to play using this computer. How can I copy my saved games. Can I even do that? I'd like to play here using this computer then return it back to the other computer afterwards.

Any help appreciated as you can see I'm not very computer literate.

Thanks very much for ur help!

OK, assuming you can copy files OK, you can do this. A floppy will do fine, the saves are about 400K each, so you can get three to a floppy. Of course, a LAN is better, but whatever you have will do fine.

First you need to find you BG2 main directory. Its usualy under c:/program files/black isle, but most sane people would have it somewhere like c:/games/BG2. It shoudnt be to hard to find. Under that directory you come to a directory called save.

How original. This directory contains numerous other directories with names like 000000000-Auto-Save. Each of these directories coresponds to one save. So grab it and put in in the save directory on the other computer.

Errors may(will) result unless you have the same version of the game on your new computer, and you should also make sure you have the same 3rd-party mods installed.

What you must not do is copy baldurs gate over - because it wont work, you need to install it from disc. Also, if its someone elses computer with BG already installed you may wish to back up their saves. For your own safety.
