Do you expect a lot out of Oblivion?
It's generally not at all good to bar ones expectations too far up but personally, after reading all the interviews, I've been extremely excited about the game. In fact, I think Oblivion will be.. how to say this.. so far the best game ever made. ![]() Yeah, BG II was great fun and Torment had a great storyline, witty jokes philosophical stuff. But when I think of Morrowind, I think of it as a game that had tons of potential but some great downfalls. From what I've read, Oblivion's going to succeed where Morrowind failed. ![]() What do you guys think? |

This is the bottom line for me. Whenever you hear the words Bethesda and Elder Scrolls in the same sentence, you know its going to be good.

Well, my expectations are sky high! I've just watched all the different videos showing off all aspects of the game and I just can't wait! The fact that the forests are generated in real time according to factors like soil erosion (rather than being placed by artists) is still bowling me over - how awesome is this going to be!

Anyway, when I think of of Bethesda and Elder Scrolls I think of two words: Bugs Galore. Honestly, I liked Morrowind. It was so different from other RPGs that I have played; loved the atmosphere, the massive world, the "other worldliness," but the bugs were a real pain. Bethesda since their beginning continually ships out one bug ridden game after another. Even their patches need patches from time to time. Still I hope this game rocks. We really need a great RPG to come along. However, I think I'll wait a year to see how many patches I'll need. ![]() |

I expect it to be a fulfillment like Daggerfall.

lol, SD has the right idea I think.
One thing I'm expecting is to need a new video card at the least, and a new pc at the most ![]() But yeah, I really do suspect it'll easily be the best RPG to come out this year and probably next year, and it'll have plenty of mods to extend its playability . |

The bugs are like an ES tradition. Without them, the Elder Scrolls title would be lacking something great. As much as you might like them gone, it takes away from the true ES experience. And seriously, Morrowind was by far a giant leap in bug-proofing than Daggerfall. |

I'm genuinely expecting the greatest game ever (in place of Morrowind). To be honest, if Bethesda just reshipped Morrowind with the new graphics and combat system, it'd be enough. Unless they've screwed up the general Elder Scrolls feel (and in fact I believe the opposite will prove true), Oblivion can't go wrong. I only hope that this Spring release date lands shortly before my college's Easter break, because my whole is getting put on hold when I get hold of this game!
