When I wear the Mentor's Ring, which is supposed to fortify Intelligence and Willpower by 10pts, I find that my Intelligence is drained 10pts and then fortified, so essentially staying the same. Then, of course, if I take the ring off my Intelligence is drained.
Is this a known bug, or what? I'm patched up to 1.6.something, whichever version came with Bloodmoon. |

You sure you weren't already drained? Or maybe hit by a spell? Have you tried taking off the ring, getting the INT restored then putting the ring back on?

Haha, I can't believe my own stupidity, but it's stopped happening so I assume that yes, I was hit by a spell. It happened like four times in a row, that's what threw me! Oh God, the humiliation!

How often do you check?
The bug you encountered would make this sort of behavior appear pretty easily. |

There should be a red indicator in bottom right if your stats are drained.

Don't one of the undead creatures have a spell that damages INT? Maybe that's what you kept fighting, I know bonelords caused me a bit of trouble a lot in the beginning.

Bonelords damage your strength. Creatures like ash vampires and some mages have unique spells that damage intelligence and other attributes. But they're not common enough to worry about.
