For me no.
I don't like the solo thing very much with ANY class.
I like the interactions between party members and this thing does not exist in a solo game. You DO level up quickly though.
However a bard is a jack-of-all-trades and would be a good choice from a strickty theoretic point of view!

My opionion on soloing seems to change every few months. I enjoy it, because it forces you to be resourceful (especially if you try a blade). Unfortunately being resourceful often means taking advantage of the AI in a somewhat abusive manner. It can be alot of fun, but generally I agree with the above post about enjoying the interactions of the party members.

Instead of soloing, I am currently in the middle of a multiplayer game with 3 PCs I created. When genreating the characters I accepted the first stat role w/o modification. This forces me to be resourcful as well, but I don't abuse flaws in the AI so much.

As far as soloing goes, I'm going thru for the first time with a kensai/mage, and it's a blast! The beginning is difficult, but once I got to about 12/15, it's gotten easier and easier. Now I'm at 12/23, and it's almost too easy, with all of the high-level mage spells you can use.

If read about ppl using just about all of the class types/kits to solo, and it can be done with just about any of them. I haven't tried any others, but I would think that a bard would not be the easiest. As far as the fun factor, there is a certain satisfaction about getting through the tougher battles with just one char...

Dervish, I'm curious what 3 classes you are using in your MP game?? That sounds like an interesting challenge.....I'm thinking an Inquistor, Cleric/Ranger, and Sorceror would make a nice 3-man team.
