As some of you may know, my preferred type of game is basically Diablo/Darkstone - a genre which is sometimes dismissed as "action" RPG

I like the ability to collect various bits and bobs and tinker with my characters to get the best setup with regard to equipment etc. At heart I'm a packrat and will happily dispense with the whole THACO/3rd Edition -v- 2nd Edition ruleset malarky in favour of carnage and mayhem. Call me shallow if you will, but that's just the kind of guy I am.

Now it's been a while since I saw something that really appealed to me, Dungeon Siege was a big disappointment, NWN was a nice distraction, but I never felt the need to replay it, Gothic II and KotOR were fun, but lacked a certain something. Divine Divinity, Morrowind and several others are sitting in their packaging sampled, but dismissed.

So there I was, browsing the wastes of cyberspace when I saw an article about a newly released game demo. The description seemed interesting, so I tracked it down and installed.

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you SACRED. Old school isometric action RPG goodness, now with added horses!

Get Googling.

LOL There are a lot of Diablo clones out there, Mouse, some of them even noteworthy.

Start playing real roguelikes instead; they're cheaper, better, and folks will stop calling you shallow

I must say, I am very tempted by your opinion - If it's really *that* good, going over Dungeon Siege, NWN, Divine Divinity, all the way up to Diablo, then I'll sure as heck grab it!

Thank you for the reference

Hmmmm - young Padwan, you have still much to learn in the ways of Moderators. We dispense wisdom and insights as we come across them

On the other hand, you could just claim I missed the earlier thread

Yes Master. I must unlearn what I have learned." For once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate my destiny.

That didn't really make any sense, did it?
