I got a Beta copy of FF 11 online, It is a whopping 6 GB installation!!! I have never seen a game so big before.

Im trying to decide if I want to go through the trouble of clearing space from my HD to do a Beta as I have never done such a thing (Beta test) before. Are they any fun? Has anyone here participated in MMORPG betas and if so what were they like?

Well I am looking for opinions and insights so if you have any please post.

Oh and if you want to discuss this game in general here thats fine as well.

Hmm I've never done a beta myself, but my brother beta tested the Anarchy Online game, and all I can say is glitch city. It shouldn't be the case with FFXI as it has been out in Japan for awhile I think. So much of the issues may have been fixed.

IMHO that's just as bad as the excuses people make to say that FF8 sucks, cloud.

They're a business, and businesses need to diversify to survive. They moved made an onine MMORPG fine. That just means it's a little more like real life. Never ending world conflict.

Oh yeah, it has been out for a while in Japan, I had forgotten that. Thanks!

I'm very curious about this game, being a huge fan of most other FF games. I wonder how the magic and combat works, ect. Clearing 3-4 GB from my HD seems like so much work right now, even deciding what to uninstall, burn to disk seems like a chore so I'm still undecided.

I may end up auctioning the darn thing on EBay, another option I am considering. Hmmmm.

Why not play it first and THEN auction it on e-bay? Best of two worlds I'd say
