Problems with Ajira

I am wanted to place a fake sould gem on Galbedir's desk. Good, I did it and returned to Ajira. But I didn't get any answer options in the dialogue window.
No matter what I am doing, the answer options do not appear. I have already tried:

a) place the fake soul gem on the desk while Galbedir is downstairs,
b) Be sure that you are placing the gem on the right place. Yes, the desk identifies itself as "Galbedir's desk",
c) Make sure that the fake soul gem is among other soul gems on the plater,
d) Make sure that the fake soul gem is on the desk as the quest wants you, not on the plater,
e) Save, quit and restart before getting the quest, after getting the quest, and after placing the gem on the desk.

Nothing helps. Still no answer options. The only thing what I can do is clicking "fake soul gem" and entering the circle where I get the recommendation "hurry and place the gem on the desk while G. is downstairs" with a possibility to click "fake soul gem" again...

What am I doing wrong?

Try putting the gem *in* the desk, not *on* it.
The desk should open like any other container.

Hate to admit how long it took me to figure out you need to 'open' the desk like any other container: I thought I needed the fake soul gem to land on top, with the platter and other gems. Tried droping it while jumping, while standing on the chair, while standing [crouched] on the desk, etc.

And when you have the desk 'open', you can take Galbedir's real soulgem: a nice little present for you, and it's never counted as stealing, so long as she isn't in the room.

I'd leave her other gems alone,though: I had her do all my enchanting [she's an *ahem* ENCHANTING GIRL, after all *groan*] which meant I could sell her tons of filled soul gems and excess daedric items after each enchanting session...

Well, i stole everything she had. Whenever i needed an enchantment, i went to Caldera, no problem.

The game relies alot on scripts. For example, if A then B, thus it must be A for B to work. It's very specific. Also if it's written wrong, then its bugged. Yeah that fake gem quest is specific. I once had to restart from a saved game (phew! glad i saved) because Gobedir (sp?) didn't return all the way by her desk. Instead, she got stuck at the stairwell. [img]graemlins/1dizzy.gif[/img] Doh!
