Can anyone tell me what happened?

I was fighting the boat load of ghosts right behind the sliding panel on the way to Marten's bedroom. My gadgeteer used a prismic ray device, My bishop used some holy water and a dispel.

Protections were Soul and Element shield, Eye for Eye and the normal magic screen.

Early on, I think from the prismic ray, one ghost turncoated. A round or two later most of the rest of the ghosts turned green and stayed green from that point forward. I finished the fight with the few remaining spirits and had these green ghost allies for my remaining time in MB.

This is the first time I've seen this, and I don't have a clue how it happened. These guys didn't have the turncoat logo, they were just green.

Has anyone else seen this here or anyplace else in the game?

TIA

No, sounds interesting though. I wouldn't think of using Turncoat on ghosts.

It's rare, but lots of other players have seen it. Pretty cool! I haven't happened to see it yet.

Listening to the accounts on this and other boards, I'm wondering if the Turncoating "spreads" and becomes semi-permanent because one of the remaining (red dot) enemies tries to Turncoat the Turncoated creature. It could be that isn't programmed quite right and instead Turncoats more and leaves them that way until you leave for long enough and the monsters are regenerated.

That's just a speculation at this point.

The last time something like this happened to me, I was fighting a mixed group of monsters: Mosquitos of some kind and some of those nasty 'gators in the Swamp. The mosquitos kept firing at my party, but hitting the 'gators. A couple of the gators turned friendly (green) and were my buddies until I left the area.

Could the turncoated ghost have attacked some of the others and turned them friendly to you? I guess this game operates on "The enemy of my enemy is my friend" principle.

yeah it happened to me. i used the strings of suduction so i had many turns to have my enemy turncoated. however, by the time the battle was over, they were only green for 3 seconds.

I've discovered a (maybe) similar effect. I once fought some critters in the swamp. I throwed in a Canned Elemental Potion. But surprisingly after the combat the Elemental didn't vanish. It stays on the map as a green dot. I left the map and returned and after I got close again the dot of the Elemental suddenly changed to red and it attacked me .

MrMxy is right, the non-turncoated struck by the turncoated will turn green as a group if one of them is killed. They always move too slowly for me. They turn red if you leave their range and return.

what a fantastic finding! i'm not sure that's even a bug - imagine a party roleplaying as pacifists. they could rely on summon elemental and razor cloak and turncoating as a way of doing damage, without doing damage. fun stuff.
