Warioware...a game made for the Gameboy advance. I've gotta tell you I had a great deal of doubt in my mind that this could be anything other than a tedious waste of time, especially when I viewed the box art and read up on Nintendo's press release (Nintendo, famed for their non-compelling advertisements). I read the latest issue of "Edge" and was suprised to see that the game recieved a 7, an impressive score. The last Gameboy advance game I bought was Advance wars, and before that Golden sun. For some reason I felt compelled to buy Warioware, and so I did and I never looked back.

The gameplay is incredibly compelling, it's never tedious, and it's ALWAYS edge of your seat action. Every time you lose, you acknowledge it's your fault and you feel that you must improve...and why? Because the game and it's interface is just so accessible, and that for some bizarre reason, YOU are not doing it justice. Redeye (from Edge magazine) got it right when he said, this game was a commentary on the videogame industry and how it relies on cash-ins and big names to survive. He was also right when he said it deserved far more than the 7 Edge awarded it, and that it was a fantastic game. You can finish it in less than a day but thats not where it's appeal lays no, it's the addictive gameplay, pleasing and simple, yet effective visuals and insane humour which should keep drawing you back in again and again.

Why did I post this? To get other people's input obviously, but also to inform those skeptical of the game to play and experience it. Everyone should, at least once, but once is never enough...

It is certainly an original game, by the reviews I have read. IIRC, there's a mini-game whereby you have to pat a dog. Weird.

BTW there is a Gamecube version (sequel) coming out next year.
