Yes. With 2nd edition rulings, the lower your THAC0, the better. It translates as "To hit AC 0" and the lower the value of this is, the easier is it to roll the dice in a way to hit lower AC values. when i level up i also only get a few additional HP. is this also NOrmal? You mean after level 9? Yes, from level 9 on, there's only a standard amount of hitpoints being added whenever you level up, the constitution bonus doesn't really "count" anymore then. 3 hp's for fighters, 1 for mages etc. can i permanently memorize more spells with potion of genuis and potion of mind focusing? Every spell you memorize when you've drank a potion of mind focusing/genius is memorized permanently, yes (Unless you remove them from your spellbook, but that's only possible in Throne of Bhaal). But once the potion wears off, you can't keep on memorizing more spells than you should, though. The potion doesn't work permanently. ![]() And last but not least.........any easy way to kill the shade Lich? My memory is a bit fuzzy as to who and where the Shade Lich was located exactly, but I never really had any problems dealing with it... In what way is he too difficult too handle? Or try performing a search on this forum to look for answers, how to deal with liches is one of the main subjects on this particular forum. ![]()

1: The THAC0 is the bonus/penalty you receive when rolling to hit.
It starts with a penalty (let us say 5) so when it becomes less (3) it's good. Ya? 2: You become stronger with each level up. Translated trough additional HP. 3: Indeed you can. 4: I hadn't any trouble with him, so I cannot give you pointers. [ 03-07-2002: Message edited by: SoaS ]

Not sure what level you are but some good litch tactics that have worked for me
-set snares where you know he will spawn -If you have a highish level cleric start casting sunray when you see the undead spawning rift open in the floor -use Daystar (see hidden text w/ control A below for easy way to aquire this item) [ 03-07-2002: Message edited by: WhirlingDervish ] |

1- Yep
2- Yep 3- As long as your intelligence does not recieve a permanent drain then yes. 4- Daystar is a ok sword, but sunray r0xx0rz. I had my character turn undead to no avail. The easiest way to kill a lich is to use the cleric scrolls of Protection from Magic as a lich only has magical attacks (they do have physical attacks, but the suck). Use 2, 1 on each of your best fighters. Send em in. Have your mages casting breach, wiz eye, remove spell protections etc and Death Ward is a VERY useful spell when fighting lichs. 1 hit death on your barbarian can screw you over totally. |

Bolt of glory is also very useful against liches. It's high enough level that spell turning doesn't effect it.
