Rightio, so I got through Paradise and finally got Martin into the imperial city, easily killed everything in our way to the temple of the one (except Marouns Dagon or however you spell it) and watched the cool movie that ended the battle and killed them both....
Anyways, I’m playing an Agent, and first of all cannot understand all the troubles you thief’s and whatnot are having as I have no trouble killing people, but enough of that, I’m curious as to whether or not that is the last of the main quests, as I am yet to receive my Dragon armor. The main story took a while in real time, but it went so fast, I had no time to take it all in, but I was very disappointed, I mean, where was the cool final Boss? All I got to do in the city was kill damn monsters, I was really hoping for an epic battle of some sort (that involved me)..... Anyways, I was just a little disappointed, but I’m still having heaps of fun completing all the other stuff in the game, I am the Listener of the Black Hand, the Gray Fox, Arena Grand Champion, and so on... Anyways again, did anyone else think that the last area was lacking? I mean, when Martin said we will have to find some way around him, I thought we would have to go through Oblivion gates and stuff, but all you really have to do is literally walk around him ![]() EDIT: Fixed my crappy spelling [ 04-11-2006, 06:46 AM: Message edited by: Hivetyrant ] |

It was lacking a final boss, true, but when i cast my mind back to how Morrowind ended, i can't help but think that Oblivion's ending was a lot better. Right up until Ocato starts bumbling on. And from there on it's all pretty much the same apart from token comments from pretty much everyone you meet.
I'm still of the opinion that Beth should've given more of an option to postpone the MQ. The way it is now, you're pretty much herded into the MQ and expected to go off an do your own thing afterwards. With a finale like they provided, everything after that seems anticlimatic. What difficulty and level were you playing at, HT? I was 26 when i got that far and playing on the default setting and i had a smeggin' nightmare trying to survive. Blocking works wonders when facing one or even two daedra at a time, but i was getting cornered by eight of them at times. In the end i just made a beeline for MD's legs and straight into the temple. Edit: I agree with you about the MQ being short. True, it took me a couple of weeks (roleplaying, not powergaming, but not doing anything apart from MQ quests) but it seems like there were only a few stages to the MQ. Morrowind's was political and complicated and although there was a lot of "filler", there were many stages to it. [ 04-13-2006, 05:37 AM: Message edited by: Sever ]

Truth be told, I'm glad there wasn't a final boss. It's too clich'e. I didn't like, however, that Martin sacrificed himself... Great ending, but it made me feel sad

i agree. the fact that martin sacrificed himself was pretty stupid. bethesda messed that up. But one thing is for sure, the fucked up the final boss. ALL YOU DO IS WALK UP TO HIM AND WHACK HIS TOE! it pissed me off sooooo much. i wanted a huge epic battle (even tho maybe predictable and kinda corney), but would still be fun. man was i dissapointed and mad.

Two things, and then I'll get on topic.
1. I dub thee thread necromancer of the 1 month old thread 2. Watch your language! Children read this board! Either way, It was quite dissapointing. I didn't think "We have to get around him" would be so literal... |
