I personally think that it was one of the best games ever made. It was scary and it had some nice RPG implentations.

Played it a while back, can't really remember where I stopped, but I was in the last fifth or something. I loved that game, my only mistake is that I've played it after beating Deus Ex a couple times, which got all it's good stuff and refined them so it was a little bit of a weird feeling for me. Excellent game slightly ahead of it's time.

I look forward to System Shock 3 (There is TALK about a sequel now)!! Pray!

I'll second (third?) that: System Shock 2 was one of my favorite games, even beating out the Thief series -- which says a lot, with me

This game was highly underated. deus ex was better the first time but ss2 has better replay value, espeshaly with the graphic update patches.

Never played the game, I only heard that it was a truly scary and well made game?
What is it about? All I heard is that you are in a computer (sounds a bit like Tron...)

There's been *talk* of a sequel for many a moon.

Unless EA merges with Microsoft, goes bankrupt, or gives away its licensing rights, SS3 will never happen.

I'd say Doom3 riffs off SS1 more than 2...2 riffed off X-Com, but did a better job.

Yeah, but if some games didnt rip off others, then there would be hardly any games out there...

It's a first-person shooter with roleplaying elements, similar to Deus Ex. You play a soldier who wakes up from cryo-sleep, just to find the spaceships he is onboard, the von Braun, have been overrun by aliens. A pretty standard story, one might think, but's there's more than meets the eye.

You don't really meet any survovors one the ship, but plenty of aliens, but you'll find alot of audio recordings made by the crew, that give insights into what have happened before.
