Well i've completed every D&D Infinity Engine game but this one. At the time when it came out I was hesistant to buy as Planescape wasn't a setting I knew very well but from what i've seen in reviews and in doing a search here for previous posts, it's a great game. Any advice for someone coming straight from the newer games such as icewind dale 2 and baldurs gate 2 i.e What differences/bugs had they still to work out at that time. Also is the path finding good, in baldurs gate 1 it was horrid, so im not sure if they have reached the "improved AI" stage back then. Last question, does the game pause when you switch to the character inventory screen. Its the one thing i hated in BG1.

I'm the opposite of you--Planescape is the only Infinity engine game I have actually finished.
Yes, the game pauses as you go to inventory. Also, you can run, and only need one character to reach a transfer point to exit, none of that "your party must regroup" or whatever the voiceover said in BG. There is MUCH more text-reading in Planescape. Yeah, there's actually a story here, instead of mindless hack'n'slash like IWD. Your main character can switch off between fighter, thief, and mage if he has met the right people. He cannot be a priest due to the nature of the character and setting. Play this game. It's the only one that makes the Infinity engine worthwhile. |

i've only played the begining but i definetely have enjoyed it thus far. The interface is different from any other infinity engine game
it is definitely not the only game that makes the infinity engine worth playing but is fun and alot of people who play it think it is the best IE game(so far i'm sticking with bg2)

I've played all the IE games but I think that PS:T is the best of the lot. A very very good storyline & excelent gfx (for the time). Some ppl say that it is the best interactive novel ever. Be prepared to read a lot & watch out for Anah (sp).

I am a big fan of PS:T and in my opinion, it is the best roleplaying running on IE.
A few more things: 1. Check out the official mods; damn good and funny too! 2. Although your main character (TNO) can switch classes as he wish, be very careful which class to specialize in. For example, if you want to play him as a fighter, please make sure that he leveled up as a fighter first in the higher levels -- This would occur at level 9 and 12th respectively. Otherwise you would not be able to gain weapon expertise up to level 4 and 5. I made the mistake the last time I played this game and I had to use the character editor to cheat. 3. Check out some of the hints and tips on the net regarding the mysterious PCs and how to recruit them.

It´s very good. AFAIK, it doesn´t support 800*600, but what can you do. A little bit too much reading for my taste, but it doesn't make it worse.

It was the first IE game that i played and i led to me buying the others(and to the world of D&D). It's heavy on reading but it's well written unlike BG2. IMO it has the best graphics and AI of the IE games despite being one of the first.

LOL. It's WAY heavy on reading and well....heres my confession !!
I gave up on it It seems to have a great storyline and everything but this is more about me having a bit too much of the infinity engione and wanting something new or different. You know when u just want something high-speed, fast action - well right now thats me. So while I wait for NWN's i'm replaying Thief 2 lol. I will probably go back to this game eventually but blah i'm so sick of point and click lately. P.s. Nameless check your private mssgs on your profile.

Well, I heard so much recommends and praises for this game, that when I finally got it and finished it, I was dissapointed. I hungered for more, it is too short.
I didn't know there are official mods. I like those reading. I got to know so much about multiverse, planes, blood war, demons, etc. Is Earth on prime or some other plane? I found many references to hellenic gods in the game.
