I went to Volcano Plane to find one of the shards. After a bit of exploring, I met a weeping dragon and we chatted a bit. After that, I climbed the pillar in the next room and got to dragon city. There, behind several of those step-on-footprint-to-open doors, I got to open area. There was the dragon. She was a bit angry, but when learned about me being a part dracoid, she let me go. Then she "flew" away.
Where to go now? I cannot get back, because I cannot open the door - there are no footprints to step on on this side. Was I supposed to kill her there? I attacked, but she flew nonetheless. [ 11-12-2002, 04:49 PM: Message edited by: Vedran ]

I'd put a spoiler tag here, but I won't be revealing any big secrets anyway
After that second encounter, turn around and go back to the room with the floating vase/statue thing at the center. There are four doors in that room. The one where you originally came in, the one opposite it where you met the dragon again, and two off to the sides. To continue, you'll need to take one of those (the one to the east, IIRC, although you may like to explore the other direction too). You can open all those doors by stepping on the footprints, they really are there. Use light spells, or increase the level of the gamma correction somewhat, to help you see if you can't find anything. |

Although the door I originally came through have no footprints... At least not in the same position as the others.

Another one. This is a spoiler:
First time In the Ice Tower I ignited four candelabras and set them in place (according to wax marks). This raised the stairs in the same room, if I'm not wrong. Second time, I found four candles (those in the room near entrance) and lighted them as well. I pressed coloured buttons, door opened and I found the sword. 1 There are four coloured "buttons" or what on the second floor that I cannot interact with. 2 There are also locked door with a lion above it (2nd floor). 3 In the throne room there are the stairs with locked door and a distinctive part of the wall (looks like a secret passage). 4 Does the sword hilt have any use? I do have what I need and could leave, but I will find no sleep tonight without knowing that. Please don't spoil me too much. And don't tell me I would have to go back in that tower for a third time.

You'd better visit your local drug store to get some help sleeping then.
It's been a while since I've finished the game, mainly because CD4 has a bad scratch meaning the game crashes just before the ice world is loaded ![]() There are only two things I can do, and one of them is hoping someone else comes along. The other is not telling you you have to go back ![]() Oh, your map is very useful when it comes to detecting secret passages, and if there's anything odd you find it's bound to be good for something |

The sword you are talking about, is it maybe Chesara's toy sword? In that case you aren't missing too much and you don't have to go back.
The rest are some spoilers . . . . . ad 1st: For interactions with those colored buttons you need the corresponding colored gems (green, blue, red, purple). They are very well hidden, and when you pick them up they go to quest items slot. Those gems open a lot of secret rooms, most of them contain minor treasures. ad 2nd: Never found a way to unlock that door, but a secret passage leads to room behind it. (Related with those gems.) ad 3rd: Stairs lead to the same room mentioned above, those barred doors could be unlocked from the other side. ad 4th: Never found use for the silver hilt, so I can't help you on that one. I hope I didn't spoil you too much. Pozdrav. |

Hvala, Yanez. And thanks, Legolas.
I was in the Tower when I posted, I just wanted to know would I miss anything if I left (if-clauses and sequence of tenses make this one hell of a sentence ![]() I found green, red and purple gem, but blue is just not there. Two hours of my life lost forever. I was told that blue one should be in the middle room accessed after arranging candelabras. A lot of water will flow under the bridge before I step in that place again. And I have second thoughts about playing this game. Buggy ![]()

This is kind of a silly question, but have you patched up the game? I know that the last patch (v 1.06 IIRC) fixes the bug concerning Sioned and the last of the Talamari quests, (hint: when you cannot speak to her she isn't supposed to be there) but a lot of other bugs still remain unresolved including the bug with blacksmith in Keep.

I downloaded a patch from Westwood online, but I doubt it was installed. Downloading got messed somehow, and I cannot continue it. Or I just couldn't, but I don't find it worth it.
I got Icewind Dale 2! Thanks anyway.
